Gift Card Terms
For buyers and recipients of Gyfts gift cards, and the Seller Agreement practitioners accept to issue them
Who sells the card: every Gyfts gift card is sold and issued by one named practitioner — not by Gyfts. It is redeemable only for eligible services or events provided by that practitioner, in the currency it was issued in. Gyfts provides the purchasing, delivery, claiming and balance-management technology. These Terms are additional to the Terms of Service and the Payment & Refund Policy.
1. What a Gyft Is
A Gyft is a prepaid digital gift card denominated in the issuing practitioner’s currency. Its balance can be applied, in whole or across multiple bookings, to eligible services or events sold by the issuing practitioner. It is not legal tender, cannot be exchanged for cash except where the law requires, cannot be applied to another practitioner or organization, and cannot pay for a booking in a different currency.
2. Buying and Delivery
When you buy a Gyft, your payment goes to the issuing practitioner: either directly through their connected payment account at checkout, or through the practitioner’s own external payment link. When an external link is used, the card is activated and delivered only after the practitioner confirms your payment in their dashboard; we tell you this before you leave Gyfts.
A Gyft sent to a recipient email, or delivered to you for personal handoff, is claimed with a secure single-use link. Whoever completes the claim holds the balance — treat an unclaimed card like cash and share the claim link only with the intended recipient.
3. Refunds and Cancellation
Gift cards are non-refundable except where required by law. Nothing in these Terms reduces rights you hold under consumer-protection law that cannot be waived, including cooling-off or refund rights that apply in your jurisdiction. Refunds, where they are due, come from the issuing practitioner as the seller of record.
When gift-card value has been applied to a booking that is later validly cancelled, the applicable value is restored to the card in line with the practitioner’s cancellation policy shown at booking.
4. Expiry
Gyfts are valid for at least five (5) years from issue, or longer where the law of your jurisdiction requires a longer period or prohibits expiry — the longer period always applies. The expiry date is shown on the card and in your account.
5. If the Practitioner Becomes Unavailable
The issuing practitioner remains responsible for honouring outstanding balances. If a practitioner stops selling on Gyfts, existing cards are not invalidated: the balance remains recorded, the practitioner retains access to redemption tools, and lawful refunds remain their obligation as seller. Gyfts does not itself guarantee, insure or make good gift-card balances, and no statement in the product should be read as such a guarantee.
6. Security, Loss and Misuse
Claim links are single-use, high-entropy credentials. We never display the full claim credential after delivery, and staff will never ask for it. If you believe a card is compromised, contact the issuing practitioner (who can suspend it) or Gyfts support. A claimed card is bound to the claiming account; changing the recipient afterwards is handled through an audited support process.
7. Practitioner Obligations
The obligations of the selling practitioner — seller-of-record status, honouring balances after any plan change, audited confirmation of external payments, closure restrictions while balances remain, and plan-based sale limits — are set out in Section 16 of the Practitioner Agreement, which applies to every practitioner whose plan includes gift-card sales. There is no separate seller agreement.
8. Privacy
Recipient names, email addresses and personal messages are used solely to deliver and manage the gift card, are visible to the issuing practitioner as needed to service it, and are never used for advertising or shared beyond that purpose. See the Privacy Policy.
