Welcome

Welcome to Reiki Federation Ireland

We are Reiki Federation Ireland (RFI), a non-profit national body dedicated to creating a strong Reiki community in Ireland. We embrace all lineages and traditions of Reiki. Our aim is to promote high standards of Reiki training and practice, to foster the understanding and practice of Reiki, and to provide guidelines and information for practitioners and the general public alike.

The idea for a federation was conceived in 2002, when many in the Reiki community felt the need for a place where all voices of Reiki could be heard. A national Reiki gathering in Portlaoise that year formed a volunteer committee, which spent a year creating our constitution and framework. In November 2003, we were officially formed at our first AGM in Mullingar.

Membership is open to anyone over 18 who has been initiated into Reiki in the presence of a Reiki Master. Members agree to abide by our constitution, and our committee approves applications. Our practitioner guidelines encourage integrity and responsibility in the practice of Reiki, covering conduct toward clients, the public and fellow members, professional standards for equipment and premises, and good record-keeping with client consultation forms. We also publish a code of ethics, a code of practice, teaching guidelines for each Reiki level, a practitioner module and a complaints procedure.

If you are looking for Reiki, you can search our Find a Practitioner/Teacher directory. Practitioners on our referral list have sent us evidence of current practitioner insurance, and we have secured reduced insurance premiums for our members. Members also receive regular newsletters and can join our Reiki gatherings, Reiki shares and annual social gathering.

We are a member of the Federation of Irish Complementary Therapy Associations (FICTA), which represents complementary therapy associations to government and other relevant agencies. We are run by a volunteer committee, and our correspondence address is in Fairview, Dublin 3. We are a membership and community organization and do not provide Reiki sessions ourselves. To ask about membership, please use the contact page on our website.
